Dear parishioners,

The following passage from the gospel for this weekend deserves our attention and meditation; “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again; but whoever drinks the water I shall give will never thirst; the water I shall give will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life” (John 4:13-14). What do you understand by drinking of the spring which gives eternal life? Brothers and sisters, in our daily lives we have problems to solve such as in the family, health, economic hardship, work, or even loneliness. If we are not well prepared to overcome the challenges of our daily lives they could overwhelm us.

However, if we drink from the fountain of living water, the daily challenges will become an opportunity to get to know more of ourselves and grow as people. So, dear friend, I invite you to drink from the fountain of the Holy Eucharist, I invite you to satisfy your thirst from the wellspring of reconciliation, I invite you to enter into the waters of personal prayer. During this Lenten Season set time apart for you. Take a few minutes for daily meditation with God’s word.

Remember that faith is not only a discipline or a commitment. Faith, more than that, is a living experience. The gift of faith helps us to see and live life on another dimension. Faith is that mystical experience which connects us with God and everything around us, whether it might be people or places. If you are frustrated because you feel that difficulties are overwhelming, it might be because you are disconnected from God and therefore from the reality around you. I invite you to drink from the water which gives you eternal life so that you may find again that harmony and communion with God and therefore with the world around you. To drink from the waters of Christ means to connect one’s life with Christ’s life. God bless you.

Queridos feligreses,

Bendiciones.
