Baptisms, please call our office to check the dates assigned in the calendar for Baptisms.
Baptism preparation class is held with Lydia Vowels in English and with Javier Zepeda and his team in Spanish in the Parish Center. The dates for baptism and prep will be given when you register your child in our parish office. Please come in the office first to fill the forms and bring the child's birth certificate.
5 Steps to Prepare for Your Child's Baptism Step 1:
Make Sure You are Registered as a Parish Member.
We practice our faith in community, so we ask that your family members are registered as
parishioners in our family of faith.
Step 2:
Attend a Baptism Preparation Session
If this is your first child, attend a Baptism Preparation Session.

Step 3:
Choose Your Child's Godparents
Your child’s godparents will be by your side on baptism day, providing an example of faith for your child. In choosing godparents, consider individuals who trust God, go to Mass, will pray for the godchild, are lifelong faith learners, and will serve as models of the Christian life. Note the following guidelines:
Step 4:
Consider Having Your Marriage Sacramentally Blessed through Convalidation
If you celebrated your marriage in a civil ceremony, this is a wonderful time in your family’s life to have your marriage blessed sacramentally. You can celebrate TWO sacraments on your child’s baptism date! Let us know if you would like to do this. You will be asked to provide a copy of your marriage license and your birth certificates.
Step 5:
Schedule the Baptism
Baptisms are scheduled according to the availability of the priest or deacon.

- 1-2 godparents (godmother and godfather) may be chosen.
- At least one must be a baptized and confirmed Catholic practicing the faith of the Church, including regular Mass attendance.
- A non-Catholic Christian may serve as a “Christian Witness” alongside the Catholic Godparent.
- Must be 16 years of age or older

PREPARING FOR YOUR CHILD’S SPECIAL DAY
- Invite family and friends to celebrate this significant day in your child’s life
- Dress your child in white. He/she does not need to be dressed in a formal, or expensive baptismal gown, just have them in something white to symbolize purity.
- Arrive a little early to get settled.
AFTER BAPTISM
- PRAY every day with and for your child. Pray as a couple together in front of him/her.
- Come to MASS, celebrate your faith in community – we welcome families with children!
- Faith Formation for your child begins at age 5
- Get involved in the life of your parish to set an example for your child.
